I was on the Maine Arts Commission's Maine Touring Artists Roster since 1993, traveling to over 50 schools across the state, working with children grades K-12 as well as with teachers.  In several school systems, I was asked to do both, beginning with inservice professional development for staff and then, for the remainder of the week, working in each classroom with the teachers by my side.

The Handmade Book as a Tool in Integrated Curriculum (Maine Arts Commission Roster)

Handmade books offer a wonderful opportunity to enhance curriculum while exploring a variety of creative processes.  Beginning as an exercise in writing or math, or as a visual poem or small theater, the books may fit in the hand or stretch 20 feet!   Anne-Claude is a veteran teacher who enjoys fitting projects to specific situations and works closely with teachers to create optimum experiences for their students.  Residencies and teacher in-service workshops may include a combination of bookmaking tasks, from drawing, printmaking, paper decoration to creative writing, pinhole photography, pop-up structures and bookbinding.
